Crotchets and Quavers Club

Paula Elder from the Crotchets and Quavers Club came into our Nursery School.

She brought her trombone with her and everyone had the opportunity to handle and play it. It was very big and very noisy!!


Pre-School Inspection

RNLI Visit

Sam and Frances came into the Nursery School recently to talk to the children about the work of the RNLI and the importance of staying safe at the seaside.


Hats and Shades Day

The children marked NI Cancer Fund for Children's Hats and Shades day by donning their favourite sunhats and sunglasses to come to Nursery School. We raised a whopping 125 which will go towards providing practical, emotional and financial support to children and young people aged 0 to 24 affected by cancer & their families.

Karen from RSPB visited us to talk about encouraging wildlife in our school grounds and gardens. The children learnt all about minibeasts and went on a minibeast hunt to see what they could find.


Eco-Schools Green Flag

We are delighted to received the news that we have been awarded our second Eco-Schools Green Flag. The children and staff have been working very hard to achieve our environmental targets. The assessors, Fiona Watters from Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council and Pauline Allen from the Education Authority, commended us on our whole-school approach and the fact that Eco-Schools work is core to our school activities. They were particularly impressed by our activities to encourage biodiversity in our school grounds.

The Eco-Schools programme is an international environmental education programme operated here in NI by Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful.


Firefighters visit us

Chris, Gary and Peter from NI Fire and Rescue Service visited our Nursery School. The children got the opportunity to try on the firefigher's uniform, sit in the fire engine and use the hose.


Joe and The Gathering Drum

Joe came to our Nursery School on 31 March. The children had lots of noisy fun playing drums and percussion instruments, participating in shaker and percussion games and discovering fascinating instruments.
