Health Action Heroes Puppet Show

Amy from Action Cancer visited us with her puppet friends Mambo and Jazz. The Health Action Heroes Puppet Show delivered key health messages in a fun and interactive way. The show focussed on four main topics healthy eating, exercise, sun awareness and the dangers of smoking.


Big Breakfast

On Thursday 12th March, our pupils took part in "Britain's Biggest Breakfast" to raise funds for Action Cancer. The children tucked into a tasty meal of fruit juice, cereal and a cooked breakfast.


Cats Protection

Louise from Cats Protection came to our Nursery School this week. The children loved hearing about what makes a cat happy or sad and learnt all about how to look after cats.

Cats Protection, the UKs leading feline welfare charity, helps over 194,000 cats and kittens per year through its national network of over 250 volunteer-run branches and 31 adoption centres.


NSPCC Sponorship News

Thank you to everyone - family and friends - who sponsored our children for NSPCC. They raised an amazing total of 326!! This money will go towards protecting children in the UK and improving their lives.

RSPB Visit

Jo from the RSPB visited us this week. As the UKs biggest nature conservation charity, with a history going back to 1889, the RSPB focuses on conserving the UK's wildlife and restoring and protecting its natural habitats. Jo encouraged the children to think about how we could help our local wildlife and told the story of Spikey the Hedgehog and all his animal friends.

Amy from the NSPCC visited our Nursery School this week to talk to the children about their important work. We learnt about keeping safe and our emotional wellbeing as well as thinking about other children.


Banyan Theatre

Karen from Banyan Theatre Company visited us on Tuesday 16 December.

She performed an adaptation of the much loved 'Brothers Grimm' classic fairy tale "The Elves and the Shoemaker", using puppetry, object theatre and original music. The children enjoyed participating in the story.


Leah's Visit

Leah, our librarian from Ballymoney Library came to visit us. The children enjoyed hearing Christmas stories and she gave everyone a Bookstart Treasure Bag of Stories packed with books and colouring pencils.


Marie Curie Mini Pots of Care

Anne McRoberts from Marie Curie Cancer Care visited Ballymoney Nursery School recently to pick up a cheque for 725.70. The children had raised this impressive amount of money by participating in the "Mini Pots of Care" scheme and being sponsored to plant and care for daffodil bulbs. The money raised will pay for Marie Curie Nurses to care for very ill people and their families in the comfort of their own homes.
